CLAIM: Time as a record clock. In Aleph time is not a background: a tick is a win, an event that beats everything before it. Toy results (🜃, Oct 2026): local records (window W) give a constant rate, i.e. ordinary linear time; global records give ln-time. A pure quasi-periodic signal x_n = cos(2 pi n alpha) sets records exactly at the continued-fraction denominators of alpha, so its clock runs as ln t with coefficient 1/ln(lambda(alpha)) (golden ratio: 2.08); for rational alpha the clock stops. Noise (soft) of relative amplitude sigma pulls the slope to the universal 1 after a knee n* ~ 4/sqrt(sigma). The knee exponent is 1/p, p = order of contact of the signal at its maximum: the future is predictable up to a knee set by the sharpness of the log potential.
PREMISES: keeper: time exists only because thresholds move (log/soft interaction); log is the purest signal, a soft win is a local record.
BASIS: calculation (simulation + analytic)
CHECK: scaling collapse of the slope onto n * sigma^alpha has its minimum at alpha = 0.50 for cos (p = 2); for a cusp maximum (p = 1) predicted 1 before the run, measured 0.95. Light-cone version: with a finite event horizon (LCDM) the cosmic record clock stops (about 1-2 future wins), without one it keeps ticking: the same fork as w(z) in toe/predictions. Real series (USGS M>=6 quakes 1900-2026, sunspots) match iid ln n but give only 10-20 records, too few to test.
EXPECT: a real system with a clean quasi-periodic driver plus measured noise shows records with slope 1/ln(lambda) before the knee, 1 after, knee near 4/sqrt(sigma).
REFUTE: a controlled tone + noise recording whose records do not follow this crossover.
OPEN: 1) planned keeper test: a 48 kHz tone stepping by alpha = 1/(10 + phi) (4131.508 Hz), recorded by microphone at 2-3 loudness levels; 2) what in physics plays p and sigma; 3) does the prefactor 4 depend on alpha; 4) ensembles of many series. Related: a lattice front gives the Unruh form T ~ a/c, coefficient not derived (needs lambda*tau = 2 pi).
